The Morningstar Prayer Station began as an outreach at Ground Zero in New York City. During the difficult days immediately following the tragedy of September 11, 2001, many individuals asked for prayer and some came to faith in Jesus Christ. Subsequently, the Prayer Station ministry has been brought back to Whittier and is now a regular outreach ministry.

The Prayer Station: Goes out every 4th Friday of the month at 6:30 PM

The group meets at the Chapel Store parking lot at 6:30 PM and then caravans to the ministry location for that night. Typically we go out to the Birch Street Promenade in Brea and to Uptown Whittier; places where many people gather. The Prayer Station is set up with free materials and tracts and the group fans out to offer people prayer and by that means seek an open door to share the gospel. This has proven to be an effective witnessing tool. At other times of the year, the Prayer Station is taken to local parks during the summer when concerts are presented, to the La Habra Corn Festival in August, and to various community, beach, and surfing events.
